Message NA geared car will be faster if both TT and NA geared cars were in the same gear. However, NA gears are shorter and because of this there will be a speed range in which the TT geared car could be operated in a lower gear than the NA geared car.

There's nothing complex about that concept, I understood it before we even had this discussion.

In this speed range the TT geared car will be faster.

In the entire rest of the speed range, the NA geared car will be faster. You seem to be missing that part =).

Read this twice.

Suppress the urge to be condescending =).

NA geared cars lose traction at lower engine torque than TT geared cars. What this means is that the TT geared cars utilize the engine torque better.

Oops, you left out proper tires and suspension again! You also conveniently left out the gears where traction isn't an issue, and the 4.10s are increasing acceleration. Finally your concluding statement that getting less acceleration out of more torque is fundamentally incorrect.

By cruising, I mean steady speed of 60-80mph obviously. At at that steady speed, NA gearing will degrade mileage most likely.

Right, so you're taking a specific example of a speed range, and generalizing it for all driving conditions - an obvious fallacy.

I have absolutely no doubt that you can impress me with your powers of debate well into the afternoon and evening, but in the end we're discussing something that has been proven a thousand times over by every drag racer who has installed shorter gears. They increase acceleration, end of story. You can write all the software you like, and you can nitpick the details into infinity - but you're still wrong.

Recursively Yours,
Kenny...
